...As a taxpayer and a voter, I want to know what happened. I want to know what happened to my Constitution, which you swore to protect and defend, not shred and discard. It is NOT just a g-d piece of paper. It is what distinguishes the United States of America...
I recently sent this letter to Bush about complying with subpoenas.
With all due respect, I don't know if it is possible for We the People to have more contempt for you and your school of bottom feeders than we do now, but I am sure it could happen.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has asked you nine times to tell them the full truth about the domestic spying program. Now, they have issued subpoenas demanding the legal justification behind the program. Please comply with the subpoenas.
These subpoenas are not asking for sensitive operational details about the program. All the Senate Judiciary Committee wants to know is your legal rationale for spying on Americans without warrants.
As a taxpayer and a voter, I want to know what happened. I want to know what happened to my Constitution, which you swore to protect and defend, not shred and discard. It is NOT just a goddamned piece of paper. It is what distinguishes the United States of America.
Without it, we are just another two-bit dictatorship, like any other banana republic.
I want to know if my government is spying on me without a warrant, and I want to know your legal justification, if any, for ordering spying without warrants on any American.
This program has been in the press since 2005. We know you have the documents, and we know the program exists because you publicly admitted it. It's time for you to release these documents to the public. Again, please comply with the subpoenas. No one is above the law.
It is time your keepers let you out of your bubble to face We the People and our elected representatives.
I am proud to be an American. Unlike you, I am a veteran who was willing to die for my country, if necessary. I love my country, and I believe we can be both safe and free, without domestic spying, concentration camps, torture, renditions and kangaroo court military tribunals. But only if everyone follows the law, including you.
Especially you, as our alleged leader.
